I am a lawyer, investigator, and co-founder of a new non-profit, Foxglove. We exist to make the use of technology fair for everyone.

The use of mass data to grade us and sort us is one of the most urgent threats of our time. When the powerful misuse technology to oppress or exclude, Foxglove will investigate, litigate, and campaign to make it right.

For many years I was a Director of the NGO Reprieve. The team I led defended people at the sharp end of the national security state. We challenged detention without trial in Guantánamo, CIA torture, drone attacks, and mass surveillance of ordinary citizens.

I have managed international litigation and run teams addressing rights abuses in many countries. A selection of prior cases is in the ‘Work’ section.

I give interviews, speak, and consult as an expert on justice in technology, national security policy, and human rights. You can find me at the Foxglove site or use the contact form above to get in touch.
